John Sowers
John Sowers is an author, hunter and advocate. He co-founded The Mentoring Project with Donald Miller, which trains mentors to reach at-risk youth. He speaks and does book readings at colleges, companies, churches and retreats all over the world. Recently, he was a keynote speaker at the Celebrate Tolkien, a gathering celebrating the life and legacy of JRR Tolkien.
John's has been featured by CNN, Maria Shriver, NBC, Fox News, Wilderness Magazine, Relevant and others. He received the President's Champion of Change of Award at the White House from President Obama, where he spoke on the subject of mentoring. He received his Doctorate from Gordon Conwell in Boston and his Masters of Divinity from Trinity in Chicago. He enjoys wilderness, knife making and mythopoeia, and is active on Twitter and Instagram - @johnsowers.
